Tips and Advise
In unusual situations, it is possible that your pet can die before genetic preservation or
collection of biopsy. However, you can preserve the gene of your pet by collecting
necessary tissues as a biopsy sample. However, you must aware of each day the
animal has deceased as it minimizes the chances for successful preservation. The
below instructions can help you with genetic preservation:
- Before the collection of a sample, do not disinfect the sample area to avoid any
damage to the skin
- If you have used iodine to sterilize the area, please use alcohol to cleanse the
iodine from the area
- Place the sample in a sealed container and keep the temperature between 0-4°C
- Please avoid using saline throughout the entire process
- Do not freeze the sample as high temperature may decrease the chance of
successful preservation
- Send the biopsy sample within 6 days
